As part of the African Days series of events organized by the German Foreign Office in Berlin, the German premiere featuring the collection of the continent’s best designers on the runway will take place today the 9th of June in Berlin. This pan-African fashion show will feature samples from two top African fashion labels African Mosaique and Michael Kra.

African Mosaique is a Johannesburg-based international enterprise owned by former model – Anna Getaneh. African Mosaiqe designs, manufactures and promotes high-end African inspired clothing and accessories. It does this while celebrating African fashion, art and culture. Mickael Kra, a jewellery designer with vast experience in the Paris and South African fashion industry, will open the show with an exclusive jewellery collection.

SHF is quite impressed with the foundation arm of African Mosaique that continually seeks to provide a platform for established and emerging designers from Africa and the Diaspora to come together seasonally and showcase their creative designs; and we are happy to announce that some of the designers to feature in the African Mosaique segment of the show are African Mosaique, Alphadi, Doreen Mashika Zansibar, Eric Raisana, Helene Asrat, Imen, Ayissi, Nkwo, Machere and Jewel By Lisa.

In the spirit of promoting retail in the African and Nigerian fashion industry,  There will be  a 3 week sale of The Best of Africa Collection at Galeries Lafayette (in Berlin) from participating designers, including African Mosaique to SHF’s delight. This definitely checks our promoting retail in the Nigerian and African fashion industry dialogue for the month and will be a great opportunity for the designers to test their products in a new market.
