The New black|Up Store.

The New black|Up Store.

On Sunday night, I dropped by the shindig for the official opening of the black|Up Cosmetics store at the Ikeja Mall and it was MAJOR!

Inside, models in white tees sat down facing the mall, so everyone could see how pretty they are. The equally gorgeous staff (was that a requirement when they hired the girls or something?) bustled around the store assisting customers and amid the organized chaos, black|Up makeup artist David Coranson focused on each lady who came in for her free makeover with surgical precision and beat her face until she was a work of art.

Outside, the red carpet was rolled out and a step and repeat put in place for the celebrities and Lagos area It -girls who attended the event, champagne and hors d’oeuvres were passed out by efficient waiters, some of the current hits blasted from a speaker and there was just a general excitement about the opening of such a chic store with such chic products.

When I dropped by on Tuesday, the red carpet was gone and there was no champagne, but the excitement was still in the air.

Ladies, the store has everything you could ever possibly want. It’s stocked with glosses and bronzers and the ladies working in the store are super-helpful. If you’re a makeup junkie like me or just in need of some concealer, drop by the new black|Up store. You’ll love it!

It’s nice to know that there is a place I can go to for everything from eye shadow primer to blush to lip pencils. Congrats to Alali Hart.
