Lanre Da Silva Ajayi and Tiffany Amber will now be available at prestigious online retail giant yoox.com along with 8 other designers from Ghana and other parts of Africa. This is part of the Fashion4Development’s Goodwill Ambassador Franca Sozzani (editor of Vogue Italia’s) work to create distribution and retail avenues for select designers working on the continent. Federico Marchetti CEO of yoox expressed excitement and enthusiasm to include African designers on yoox.com, apart from the obvious CSR factor he said that participating in this initiative, is also a good way to surprise yoox customers. Word of this initiative has spread quite fast so much so that Olivia Firth tweeted about it. I am excited to see what other avenues and surprises Franca Sozzani has in store for these African designers.

I am soooo proud of these ladies. Tiffany Amber started the revolution in the fashion industry. In fact i can clearly remember Ifeoma Williams giving out flyers in Unilag in 1999 to her first fashion show. Who would have thought. It’s all good and more grease.
