One of the last New York Fashion Week events I attended was the House of Versatile Styles presentation by Nigerian designer Bukola Are. While a presentation usually has less models than an actual show, I would have liked to see more than the 8 models used.
Bukola Are stayed true to her Nigerian roots by using ankara fabric for two of the outfits. The designer used the presentation as a platform to launch her HVS curve collection which is made for plus -sized women. Models also wore handbags by Ola Lawal. Staying true to the name of the label, Bukola mentioned that “There’s something for everyone, clothes that will fit all women.”

Women’s accessories designer, Bukola Are, showcased her Fall 2011 collection during New York Fashion Week (NYFW) at 320 Studios with FSL Cosmetics and Olas Handbags.
This season, HVS has teamed up with FSL Cosmetics who is the official cosmetic sponsor for the show and has created an exclusive lip color inspired by the new HVS Collection called Purple Goddess. All the models will wear the HVS signature Purple Goddess lip-gloss during the presentation. HVS has also collaborated with handbag designer, Olasunbo Lawal. Olas Handbags will the styled throughout the show to complement the HVS Fall 2011 collection.
