SHF officially rejoices with Ghana for making it to the next round. Phew! That was so close and would have been kind of sad if no African Country made it to the next round.
The luxury fashion group LVMH has also tapped into the football season with Louis Vuitton’s current advertising campaign – The New Core Values produced by Ogilvy Paris; titled “An Encounter With Greatness” featuring three football living legends – Pelé of Brazil, Diego Maradona of Argentina and France’s Zinedine Zidane, who all wore the Number 10 shirt for their teams as “Withdrawn Strikers”. The campaign was shot by celebrated photographer Annie Leibovitz,
who has shot visuals for previous Louis Vuitton corporate campaigns; and it captures three of the best football players of all times playing a game of table football (aka foosball) in Café Maravillas, Madrid.
Antoine Arnault, Head of Communications at Louis Vuitton, said: “What true football fan has not dreamt of seeing these three living legends – Pelé, Maradona and Zidane – play each other? Louis Vuitton is honoured that they agreed to team up for our Core Values campaign.”
With three such enigmatic people in one frame, it is almost easy but impossible to forget the Mon Monogrammed Louis Vuitton Pégase cabin case by the bar, personalized with the initials of Zinedine Zidane and the Keepall resting on a stool nearby! After all, that’s what the campaign is promoting – luggage pieces.
What SHF loves best? In the context of its on-going commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable development, Louis Vuitton is making a donation to The Climate Project, spearheaded by Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore, on behalf of Pelé, Maradona and Zidane.
Louis Vuitton has also announced a partnership with FIFA, (separate from the advertising campaign) in which the fashion label will create a new travel case for the FIFA World Cup Trophy. This is special since Louis Vuitton makes around 450 special orders such as the travel case at its workshop in Asnières, France every year. Jérôme Valcke, FIFA General Secretary said: “When you have the most beautiful girl in the world you hope she will wear the most beautiful dress, that’s exactly what we’ve done.” Louis Vuitton echoed Jérome Valcke’s statement: “We try to do things out of the box,” says Arnault. SHF definitely looks forward to seeing this case.
