The Palms Shopping Centre came alive on May 22nd, 2010 with a parade of the best that the fashion and beauty retailers at The Centre have to offer. The Palms has a strategic marketing vision which ensures that efforts are targeted towards enhancing the shopping experience of people, increasing foot traffic and ultimately stimulating sales in all offerings at the Centre.
Palms Fashion Promenade 2010 was a celebration of fashion with a variety of fashion and beauty filled activities and events from the fashion and beauty retailers at The Palms Shopping Centre.
There were mini beauty therapy treats on the go from Montaigne Place – the dedicated beauty professionals using the Black Up range and Casabella, the recently opened one stop shop for beauty and grooming supplies for men and women. Montaigne Place and Casabella were the dedicated make up artists for the models, bringing each retail store’s look to life with a range of looks that can take you from day to night.
Dark and Lovely’s hair styling bar, was the hub for most of the day as shoppers were treated to free hair make over, hair consultations and on the go quick hair blow dries. They had a dedicated team of hair stylists who also ensured that the models for the parade by the retail stores looked impeccable.
In between shopping, hanging out and carrying out their regular shopping activities, shoppers were treated to a variety of beverages, liquor and canapés made available in every part of the mall from Shoprite, George’s Kitchen and Mario’s Pizza’s.
The day culminated in a fashion parade featuring the clothes and shoes retailers at the Centre. The parade started with Kidz Country, featuring the future supermodels of tomorrow on the runway in top of the range pieces from the retailer known for runway inspired children’s clothes and accessories for babies to age 15.
Diva’s House showed a range of their favourite accessories on models who wore tee shirts from the denim and casual clothes company – Wrangler. Wrangler’s 15 piece parade was a combination of their men and women’s everyday inspired pieces for the everyday man and woman.
Mango dissected the spring summer 2010 trends effortlessly with an exhibition of their Pure Light Collection perfect for chic laid back style.
Fast Forward group presented items from their collection of global brands – Nike Sportswear, Levi’s, Swatch and Converse . This was done in collaboration with top of the range electronics from The Hub Media Store such as ipods, guitars and headphones.
Mobos – retailer of clothes, shoes and accessories that can take you from day to night left us longing for quick mini getaways with her light as feather embellished dresses and gorgeous sandals perfect for taking you from day to night.
Twice as Nice had earlier wowed shoppers at The Centre with the exclusive autograph and launch of 9ice’s top of the range Tee’s at Twice as Nice and they later on exhibited their house favourites – shirts of a diverse range for every man and woman.
Da Viva – the textile manufacturers known for its accessibility, affordability and artsy prints, officially opened its doors with the presentation of a collection by Kem Kem Studios for Da Viva on the same day to the delight of customers, shoppers and visitors to the shopping centre.
Hangers & Kicks
Hangers and Kicks, known for their top of the range lines such as Escada and Kay Unger, showed a collection for the modern and sophisticated woman of style.
Oyeog ensured that shoppers could see at a quick glance that there is no end to the unique experiences that can be enjoyed from the range of textiles available at Oyeog.
Tiffany Amber, the fashion house known for revolutionising fashion in Nigeria closed the show with signature embellished pieces, so feminine and effortlessly stylish.
Maybrands, distributors of the Fossil brand with watches, sunglasses, jewellery, wallets and belts; and Swatch, ensured that shoppers went away with the best that both retailers have to offer with the raffle draw at the end of the show.
The Palms Fashion Promenade 2010 was really an experience that redefined fashion and beauty away from the confines and restrictions of the retail stores onto the runway and exhibition corners at The Palms Shopping Centre. The event, which was organised by Style House, was sure to create positive publicity and visibility for the Palms Shopping Centre’s fashion and beauty products. Hopefully, this will result in an immediate, non stop, strong and unrivalled demand for the products.
