Pecha Kucha Night

Like a lot of Nigerian events, thing never start on time but once kicked off could go horribly wrong like the food finishing or a whack MC or beautifully well, thank goodness it was the latter.

A bit about Pecha Kucha Night

Pecha Kucha Night started in 2003 in Tokyo and translated means ‘sound of conversation’. Each artist has 20 seconds to discuss 20 images. Tamilore Kuboye

The Nigerian Take

A healthy crowd of young upwardly mobile and fashion conscious mix of the sexes showed up. The odd granny and friend came to support their children and the media was on hand. It was very interesting having a mix of artistes talk about their work-architecture, fashion, photographs, sound, film and design. Some tried too hard to impress while others worked the crowd like magic.

Our final thoughts

It was stylishly informal and an excellent environment for networking especially with a few big people in the crowd. We look forward to more PK nights but please can the fee be reduced to N1500 and include drinks, so we can have more people next time.
