SHF Review – Duro Olowu SS 2012 NYFW Presentation

 

Once again, Duro Olowu opts for the city of bright lights to present his SS 2012 Collection. Milk Studios played host to the presentation that had one of fashion’s most influential people in attendance – Anna Wintour.

Duro Olowu’s SS 2012 Collection reemphasis a kind of chic, hippie sophistication – . everything seems light with a certain ease and spirit of freedom, all captured in desirably mixed colours from different sides of the spectrum – muted outdoorsy colours to a punch of vibrant offerings which includes red and large multicoloured stripe details. What is evident in Duro’s collection is season upon season of a true style in the continuity of personal work – prints, separates (that include jackets, shell tops, maxi skirts, wide leg trousers, A line dresses…) and his love for bold and soft style statements.

Check out the Jackets – we love the Morning Coat inspired jackets with the cutaway details and pointed lapels. They are set to be a favourite for ss2012.
