Whether it’s hot or cold outside, your skin deserves the best treatment. Here are some time tested tips for a healthy complexion all year long.

When it’s HOT

-Protect your skinĀ  with sunscreen against the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun.

-Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water and avoiding alcohol and fizzy drinks.

-If you suffer from acne, mix one spoon of sea salt in 4 ounces of warm water and use the solution to clean the area and cover it for 2 to 3 minutes using a cotton ball twice or thrice. Then pat the area dry.

-To avoid blisters, sprinkle your feet with foot powder before wearing sandals.

-Keep your makeup light, sheer and sultry.

When it’s COLD

-Moisturise, moisturise and moisturise.

-Use a bit of petroleum jelly and a soft bristle toothbrush to exfoliate any dead skin from the lips.

-For healthy nails, hair and skin, apply Vitamin E oil regularly.

-Feel free to experiment with makeup.

-Keep up your liquid intake.

When it RAINS

-Wash and cleanse the face thoroughly and rub an ice cube on your face for 5 to 10 minutes to lower the sweating rate so that the makeup stays put for longer period of time.

-Women with oily skin can use astringent while women with dry to normal skin can use toner after the ice to cool and refresh the skin.

-Avoid heavy makeup which has a risk of being smudged and washed out in a downpour.

-Waterproof your makeup; foundation, mascara, liners and transfer-resistant lipstick are all must-haves.

-Keep drinking water.

No matter the weather, following a diet rich inĀ  fruits and vegetables and drinking lots of water coupled with regular exercise is crucial for flawless skin. As much as possible, go natural and organic with your makeup and beauty products.
