The Labels Catwalk Show 2011

The Labels Catwalk show took place on Friday, 19th August 2011 at The Rivington Cafe, Shoreditch, London.   The aim of the event was to showcase the pre-London Fashion Week collections of a select group of emerging designers.

My favourite designers and looks were as follows-

Anna Grzegorczyk

Her Spring/Summer 2012, collection was inspired by her trips to Scandanavia and the book titled, ‘Patterns of the Earth’ by Bernhard Edamier.  Anna was also influenced by the beauty and harshness of Norwegian nature, and used the collection to portray the rustic and organic elements she witnessed during her travels.  The hand-made chunky wooden jewellery used to accessorize the ensembles added an extra element of texture and created a symbiotic balance of organic themes.

Enuvie Orere- KI:WI Sumo

The KI:WI Sumo brand is a fusion of Japanese traditional garments and architecture, mixed with Western formal tailoring.  The A/W 2011 collection pictured below is an extension of the ethos of the brand.  Structured tailoring came in the shape of bold coloured evening jackets, capes, high waist silk flowing maxi skirts, and short jackets with nipped in waists.  The youthful nature of the brand was reflected in cotton white, playful short dresses and short shorts.
